The Team going to Monte Blanco from I-TEC will leave on Friday, February 15, 2013. I-TEC has a team of twenty-two men and women going on this trip to convert electrical power to the campus from standard US voltage to the Bolivian National Voltage. This is a rather intense task and we will be kept quite busy for the two weeks our team is on the ground there.
In preparation for that, five of us will be going to the location on February 5, in order that we can visit electrical supply houses and purchase materials in Bolivia to keep this entire team busy for the two weeks we will be there. As we are just a few days from leaving now, we are asking you to pray for us that we will be able to make our flights and arrive safely in Bolivia with all of our luggage. We will be taking the tools we need to work with, as well as some supplies that have been donated by generous individuals here at home for the work there. One electrical control unit, that is unavailable in Bolivia and has been purchased for the project by the mission we are going to serve, is being carried in checked suitcases. We had to break it down into several pieces and some of these are very delicate electronic controls, so we are asking you to remember us in your thoughts and prayers as we seek to get these parts to the site and put them back together there. We are hopeful that our packing methods are adequate enough to protect them from damage and that once we reassemble them they will work as designed.
There will be another team of eleven men and women joining us in Bolivia to assist on the project. A BIG need is for us to have clarity as to the nature of the work and that we would all bond together in doing the Lord's work at this important camp in South America that has been effective in ministering to thousands of youth and adults since its opening in 2005. We wish to be shining examples of God's love and compassion and also in working together effectively as one unit.
Next posting on this will be when we begin our travel on Tuesday. We will do our best to keep you up to date on all that happens and are hoping you will not lose interest in what God has called us to do in the next month.
Best of luck to Steve and friends. AMDG!
