We went to a number of locations today to search for more light fixtures and parts. We purchased two coffeepots for the team and a few other essential items. Omar is a very safe and good driver and he knows his way around Santa Cruz.
We visited several "American style" stores.
Traffic is busy in this bustling city of 2.6 million.
We chose a different fixture from the one we looked at yesterday and are hopeful that it will serve well in the dining hall at Monte Blanco.
Back at the guest house we looked at the stash of materials and tools that are presently here and available for our use at Monte Blanco. The men still at Monte Blanco kept busy today doing some preparatory work for the team's arrival.
Our big need for Friday is that we have enough time to get all the things done that we need to get done. Our supplies are being purchased by a local engineering company and we will have a large truck here ready to load up all these supplies. We will also be transporting the rewired generator back to Monte Blanco with us on Saturday. We will have teams coming in at four different times starting around 6 PM Friday through almost 9 AM Saturday, at which time we will begin our trek into the Andes and to Monte Blanco. We are hopeful that we will arrive at Monte Blanco around 4 PM on Saturday. Many things need to come together on Friday. In just a few short hours the first of our team will be heading for Dulles Airport for their 9 AM flight to Panama. Then another segment of our team will be leaving for Dulles for a 2:30 PM flight. Please pray that all of the team is able to get to the airport in plenty of time and that there are no hardships experienced in the TSA Security at Dulles or the Customs in Santa Cruz. Tim and Gary will be greeting each of the teams when their plane arrives at Santa Cruz. There will not be much time for sleep on Friday. We need to get sleep tonight in anticipation of that. We will not rest until we have all of our team here with us.
