It is early Sunday morning and we wanted to let you know that the entire team made the journey into the Andes to Monte Blanco. Many of the team did not get much sleep. The road to Monte Blanco is windy and travels up and down several times, one time reaching over 7000 feet. There are practically no guardrails anywhere and many times we could look out the bus window and down into canyons 1000 feet deep, while we rounded corners on the wrong side of the road to avoid broken pavement or potholes.
Just looking into one of the agricultural valleys from high up is great.
Once we arrived at Monte Blanco we snapped some group photos. You may recognize some people in this photo. The bus driver was one of the most careful drivers we have known, and aside from the fact that you drive only a few feet from sudden death, we felt the protection of the Lord all the way. We had a small group get together after dinner, but today will be our main "get-acquainted" time as well as time spent getting familiar with the entire facility here.
